Its a blend of sun-soaked hours, serene luxury and soul-soothing solitude. This proprietary blend, stirred by gentle trade winds, is at the heart of the Jumby Bay experience. An island arcadia enjoyed for nearly two decades, the resort is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea and blessed with a gloriously temperate climate. With its towering palms, wild orchids, bougainvilla and lawns edged with pristine white sands, Jumby Bay is home to an astonishing array of wildlife and an ample reserve of privacy. Its a charming island playground infused with the atmosphere of an elegant house party, new arrivals are quickly seduced by languid pace of life on Jumby Bay. A morning dip in the sea, sunbathing at noon, or a game of croquet in the afternoon are accompanied only by the serene sounds of nature. On an island without cars, guests move about easily in golf carts and bicycles along the island?s palm-shaded paths. Where sand, sun and revelry meet the postcard perfect white sands of Jumby Bays main beach are lined with thatched-roofs bohios and hammocks strung between stately palms. The Beach Bar provides convenient seaside services while the nearby Beach Pavilion, with its cabana-lined pool and tennis courts, is a gentle hub of the island. On the Atlantic side, Pasture Bay Beach is the islands most isolated and untamed seascape and a natural preserve for the endangered Hawksbill Turtle. Watersports, deep-sea fishing trips, scuba diving and snorkeling are just a few if the leisure choices at Jumby Bay. When civilization beckons, a short catamaran ride takes guests to mainland Antigua where shopping, casinos, Historical sites and golf await.

Driving Directions: - V C Bird International Airport (ANU): You will arrive into Antigua at the V.C. Bird International Airport located on the northeast corner of Antigua. There are many direct flights from North America and Europe as well as connecting flights via San Juan and St. Maarten. Charter flights are also available to the neighboring islands. Upon arrival to Antigua, a Jumby Bay representative escorts guests via a five-minute taxi ride to our private launch for a relaxing 7-minute boat journey to the resort.
Restaurants: - The Verandah Restaurant - Simplicity and individuality are at the heart of Jumby's cuisine. Signature dishes and an array of combinations that simply must be experienced are inspired by a fusion of East and West, fresh and elegantly understated.:
- In-Suite and Picnic Options - In addition to full English breakfasts at The Verandah, arrangements can be made to have a continental breakfast served on your private terrace. Private terrace dinners, beach dinners and picnic lunches may also be arranged at your request.:
- The Estate House - Candlelight, swaying palms and soothing music lend to the Casablanca-style atmosphere of the resort's central gathering place. Located in a 230-year-old English plantation manor, Jumby's signature restaurant specializes in modern European cuisine with Asian touches. Multi-course dining options as well as a seasonal tasting menu are offered. Cocktails are served upstairs, amid colonial elegance, on the surrounding terraces.:
Attractions: - On the northeastern corner of Jumby Bay Island lies an archaeological site of floor flints dating back 7000 years.:
- Located on the north side of English Harbor, Bat Cave is home to hundreds of bats hanging upside down from the ceiling. Local legend says that the cavern actually goes under the sea as far as Guadeloupe. You will need permission from the Medical School to visit Bat Cave:
- From May to December, experience the rare sightings of the hawksbill sea turtle during their nesting season.:
- Just 11 miles outside of St. John's lies one of the biggest attractions in the eastern Caribbean, Nelson's Dockyard National Park. This beautifully restored Georgian naval dockyard was home to the British Fleet during the Napoleonic Wars.:
- Join in the fun at casino night in St. John's. Located on English Harbor near the shopping village.:
- Visit the colorful shops and local vendors in St. John's. Browse through or take home some of Antigua's wonderful native products such as pottery, carvings or Antigua's rum. Visit Dut-free Heritage Quay or Redcliffe Quay for clothing, jewelry, local arts and crafts and Cuban cigars.:
- A bird watcher's fantasy. Boat over to this tiny uninhabited islet and see the nesting grounds of the red-billed tropic bird. From April to September the laughing gulls, purple martins, terns, and brown noodles grace the island.:
- Starting at the brick factory, climb this one-hour, not-so-easy trek to Green Castle Hill to see the most spectacular three-way view of Antigua. Rock formations rise up to 180 meters and are thought to be prehistoric megaliths.:
- Once used as a base for the British Nave, English Harbor is home to Antigua's historic district. Features on the Harbor include Nelson's Dockyard National Park and many shops and restaurants.:
- * Beach on site * Fitness Center/ Health Club on site * Jogging Track on site * Pool-Outdoor * Spa facilities on site * Stair Stepper * Stationary Bike * Table Tennis * Tennis Courts on site * Treadmill * Universal Gym:
- Housed in the colonial Court House, the Museum features displays on both the Arawak and colonial artifacts discovered through archaeological digs on both islands.:
- There are numerous hiking trails throughout Antigua. The following are just a few: Wailing's Woodland; Old Road; Falmouth; and Rendezvous Bay. Of course, Jumby Bay has over 4 miles of hiking and walking trails:
- East of English Harbor lies Shirley's Heights, named after the former Governor of the Leeward Islands in 1781, where a partially restored fortification of the island’s observation post still remains. Enjoy breathtaking views or stroll the grounds to see the Palladian arches, barracks and Victorian garden.:
